THE STAG AT LYNDHURST RECOGNISED AS PUB OF THE YEAR IN HAT-TRICK OF WINS AT PRESTIGIOUS AWARDS!
The Stag at Lyndhurst has picked-up a hat-trick of wins at a prestigious pub industry awards having won Pub Team of the Year, Community Pub of the Year and the overall prize of Pub of the Year 2023.
The pub won the overall prize of Pub of the Year 2023 for exceedingly high standards in a large range of areas. These include customer service, food, meeting vegan and dietary requirements, providing a child friendly environment and a great Sunday roast.
The Stag picked up the Pub Team of the Year award in recognition of licensees Steve and Maria’s commitment to both developing and supporting their entire team professionally and personally.
The pub was also awarded Community Pub of the Year for its pivotal role as a social hub in Lyndhurst, providing regular entertainment for locals including quizzes, live music and drag nights, plus raising £25,000 over 18 months for good causes. Judges also commended the pub for providing its space free of charge to community groups.
The great news for licensees Steve and Maria comes as they also recently re-opened their pub The Old Mill Hotel in Salisbury following a £300,000 refurbishment.
The Night of Excellence Awards celebrate the success of great licensees and the businesses they run in partnership with Greene King Pub Partners. They comprise of 15 awards ranging from Community Pub of the Year to Food Pub of the Year, which are all sponsored by key suppliers to the pub sector and well-known brands such as Heineken, Coca-Cola, Diageo and Molson Coors. Entrants go through a strict judging process including mystery visits in order to be crowned award winners.
This year, the awards were held at a grand ceremony and dinner hosted at the Crowne Plaza hotel in Stratford-Upon-Avon, Warwickshire. The event was attended by numerous licensees from across the country who work with Greene King Pub Partners as well as representatives from the hospitality and pub sector including trade bodies, business leaders and more.
